The Tigers' radio broadcast team often use the phrase "Nice Area" after a promotion of some kind. All the listeners have to do is send in their name and address, and they could be entered into a contest to win a prize, depending if the Tigers can match the terms of offensive production the company required.
It gets a little silly, though.
There is no hesitation after saying the resident's city...the color commentator chimes right in with "Nice Area." "Monroe" becomes "MonroeNiceArea" and "Dearborn" becomes "DearbornNiceArea."
Most Michiganders have a sense of whether it is a nice area or not. It sounds like a joke without the laughter, and insincerity makes me say "of course." If you want the place you live to be called a nice area, just send a postcard to Dan Dickerson and Jim Price.
Those are Michigan memories of this past summer, and since moving to the Gallatin Valley in Montana, I have often thought, "Nice Area!" So far, this has been just that for Giselle and I. Yes, we do drive longer distances to get to the grocery store, and to church. It is something to get used to. But I must credit the people we have met so far have gone out of their way to make this a nice area for us, and for that I give thanks to the Lord! We have enjoyed so many sunny days, dramatic rainshowers, mountain views, and we know there is more to come. Soon school will start, and I feel it is a great honor to serve God in this way at a Christian School. It is humbling to be honored like this. I'm eager to be part of the team here that helps prepare children for lifetimes of service to the Lord.
